WM Symposia 2023
The Waste Management Symposia conference series focuses on radioactive waste management and related topics. It offers an opportunity to join over 2,000 industry professionals from more than 30 countries to discuss and share ideas on many crosscutting topics including: robotic handling, remote systems, new technologies, radioactive and hazardous waste characterization, treatment storage, packaging, transportation, and disposal, engineering design and construction, environmental laboratories, decontamination, decommissioning, and environmental remediation – as well as emerging topics such as small modular reactors, clean energy, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).
2023 Featured Country: France
As the featured country in 2023, France will present its very holistic and consistent approach on radioactive waste management throughout the 4-day conference, giving keys to understanding French success and challenges. France is the second largest country producer of nuclear power with 56 reactors and plans to build 14 more. France will present numerous panels, papers, posters and exhibits demonstrating the robustness of the French model founded on continuous innovation and pragmatism in the management of the total nuclear fuel cycle, including recycling used nuclear fuel, to sustainable radioactive waste management solutions.
2023 Featured DOE-EM Topic: EM’s Transformation in Radioactive Liquid Tank Waste Management
WM2023 DOE-EM featured topic will focus on progress and innovations in clean up across the complex featuring the management of liquid radioactive tank waste.
WM2023 will feature papers, posters and panels describing research, development, and operational experience covering the compete spectrum of radioactive waste management and related topics.
